  14. <p><font face="Arial"><strong>Selecting the playback tracks. </strong>The second row of
  15. blue buttons are the playback select buttons. When pressed the button will appear to emit
  16. a blue glow and the track is selected. Any number of the available tracks may be played
  17. back simultaneously, regardless of the capabilities of your soundcard - the signals are
  18. dynamically mixed by QTrack using software only, and do not rely on the hardware analogue
  19. mixer in the soundcard.</font></p>

  21. <p><font face="Arial"><strong>Selecting the start and stop positions. </strong>If you may
  22. wish to play only a portion of the recording, you can use the start and stop controls to
  23. select the desired part. To do this, first press the POSITION button to activate the
  24. position controls. If the button does not work, then either you do not have an existing
  25. recording, or the software is un-registered and the un-registered software does not
  26. support this facility. Adjust the start and stop times with the slider controls, and use
  27. PLAY mode to verify the selection. (<em><strong>Note. </strong>QTrack does not yet support
  28. absolutely precise selection down to the nearest sample. However, it should be precise
  29. enough for most common purposes</em>).</font></p>

  31. <p><font face="Arial"><strong>Starting playback. </strong>You press the <strong>PLAY</strong>
  32. button to begin playback.If you wish to start playing back at other than the beginning of
  33. the file, use the <strong>POSITION</strong> scrollbar to point to the place where you wish
  34. to start (you will need to activate the position facility with the position button to the
  35. left of the scrollbar). You may move the scroll bar even while the playback is in progress</font></p>

  37. <p><font face="Arial"><strong>Stopping playback. </strong>Either press the <strong>STOP</strong>
  38. button at any point to manually terminate playback, or wait till the end of the recording
  39. is reached when playback will stop automatically. Note that because of the way QTrack
  40. works, there may be a small delay of perhaps a quarter of a second between pressing the
  41. button and the playback actually stopping. (<em><strong>Note </strong>To reduce this time
  42. interval use smaller buffer sizes. However, this may produce undesirable effects on low
  43. performance hardware</em>).</font></p>
